Paul Cézanne (1839-1906) usually signed his paintings "P. Cezanne." He wrote in a stylized cursive that has been programmed as a popular computer font.
Cézanne considered many of his paintings to be unfinished and therefore left them unsigned. There are also a number of forged Cézanne paintings due to the artist's popularity and unique painting style.
Cézanne often signed his paintings along the bottom edge of the canvas. He signed with different paint colors in a rather subtle fashion, not letting the signature compete with the image.
